Our dear friend Aslan Jabbar (Abzi) had a recovery that's speedy and complete. We couldn't wait to see him back on his feet again.
His wife Reside Jabbar and his friends love, support and prayer was a great contrubition to give him strength in this difficult time. We all wish them happier, healthier days to come.

Dr. Sameer Sayeed:
I wrote an article about my late Uncle Gennadiy and Sadiye Apa who lived in the wild North of Minnesota. The article includes information on his tough voyage to America as well as the tough time my mother's family had coming here from China and many photos of my mom's family from the old days to more recent. The newspaper published the article and it came out very nice and was very descriptive. It was nice to see that they took interest in our story and quite an honor. Our remaining friends in Minnesota loved reading it.

Nazifa Karimova
We are very happy to announce that Mrs. Nazifa Karimova will be joining us to celebrate Mother's Day at ATA on 5/18/08. She has been working as a Moscow reporter on Radio Liberty in Tatar language (Azatliq Radiosi) for fifteen years. She is a novelist, dramatist, author of lyrics for the number of modern Tatar songs, the laureate of prestigious literature prize “Chrystal Feather”, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan, and also the Chair of the Moscow Tatar Intellectuals Club “Zyyalylar Cluby.”
Nazifa Karimova is the member of the Editorial Board of the “Syuyumbike” magazine and the Moscow newspaper “ Tatarskie novosti”. She will share with us her creative work and introduce us to the news of the cultural life of Tatars in Moscow and Kazan |
